It is a neighbourhood in Singapore that used to be home to many Spice plantations. Like its famous neighbour Orchard, 17th century Tanglin mostly comprised of gambier, nutmeg and pepper plantations.  But, again like its neighbour, the colonial period saw Tanglin converted into residences for the Europeans and Chinese.
